Learn what items we accept at our recycling drives
While most styrofoam is accepted, not all of it is!! A good rule of thumb is if you squish the styrofoam and it reverts back to it's original shape, they DO NOT accept it. This is most commonly seen in packing peanuts.
We accept all plastics that are labeled "#6" or "PS" as long as they are clean of any food waste. This label is usually found on the bottom of the product.
Examples of common #6 plastics
- Clear disposable cutlery and cups
- To-Go/food Containers
- CD/DVD Cases
- Yogurt Containers
**NOTE: Please check your items to ensure they have a "#6" or "PS" label even if they are on this list.
The plastic and foils of the individual blister pack and the contact lens itself are all accepted at our drive. The liquid solution CANNOT be included (for example, if the contact lens was unopened). If you can sort by the different parts please do so!
